Petition
to Rescind the Ban On God and
Allow the Meaning of the 13 Folds of the American Flag to be Recited At Veterans Cemeteries
Directed
to the Hon. William F. Tuerk
Under Secretary for Memorial Affairs at the Department of Veterans Affairs
I, the undersigned, do hereby demand
that the National Cemetery Administration rescind its ban on God at the funerals of our nation’s veterans.
The recitation of the meaning of the thirteen folds of the American
flag is a proud tradition that honors our nation’s religious heritage and the service and sacrifice of the members of
our armed forces and their families. If the families of veterans would like the ceremony included in the
memorial services of their loved ones, then the National Cemetery Administration should comply with their request and permit
its employees, volunteers and any other government-related officials to participate in this tradition.
Furthermore, any volunteer honor guard currently defying this
gag-order should not be punished or discouraged in any way from continuing to perform this solemn ceremony until this unconstitutional
edict is officially lifted.
