Defend the National Day of Prayer
In 2009, under massive pressure from left-wing, anti-religion pressure groups, President Obama declined to attend the official National Day of Prayer ceremony. In 2010, these radical activists want to force Mr. Obama to ignore the National Day of Prayer completely and to not even issue a simple proclamation commemorating the day and importance of prayer in America. Stand up for the National Day of Prayer and sign our petition by completing the form below.
Citizen’s Petition for President Barack Obama in Support of the National Day of Prayer
Whereas the radical left, in anticipation of your election, in 2008 filed suit demanding a court to declare the National Day of Prayer and any presidential call for prayer illegal;
Whereas such a ban would be a slap in the face to the millions of Americans who believe in prayer and would be an insult to our founding fathers who believed in prayer and that America is one nation under God;
Whereas during your campaign you promised to respect faith and claimed that prayer and expressions of faith held rightful and legitimate places in the public square;
Whereas radical left-wing activists who supported your campaign now expect you to sit idly by while a rogue judge declares the National Day of Prayer to be unconstitutional;
Therefore, I do hereby demand that you publicly and unequivocally support the National Day of Prayer and that you will pledge to ignore any decree by any activist judge declaring such prayers illegal.
